Located in the heart of Encino, Los Encinos State Historic Park is an interesting site where visitors can learn about the local history of the area. Visitors can tour the estate that consists of several rooms and buildings featuring rare exhibits, equipment, objects and documents pertaining to the earlier setters of the estate. This brilliant house was designed by the famous designer couple Mr. Charles and Mrs. Ray Eames. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006, this is one of the benchmark works of the Eames couple. Made with glass panels and steel columns, the design of this wonderful structure was much ahead of its time. Now maintained and preserved by the Eames Foundation, this house has become a famous tourist attraction in Los Angeles. The visitors can only enjoy the architectural brilliance of the building from the outside.. All the furniture and household items used by the Eames are still preserved and maintained inside the house.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium's collection of sea creatures is impressive, and best of all, it's free. The aquarium features huge free-standing water tanks, wet laboratories, a space for exhibits (both indoor and outdoor) as well as an office space. Most of the marine life that you will find in this aquarium is native to Southern California and it also showcases educational displays and programs of marine biology. A visit to this humble aquarium can be quite rewarding and a great learning opportunity to learn more about the mysteries of the marine ecosystem.
Located in the historic Anaheim Colony, the district includes three principal areas, the Packard Building, Farmers Park and the original Packing House. The Packard Building houses the popular Umami Burger and Anaheim Brewery while the Packing House hosts a myriad of restaurants. The site is open on the first and third Saturday of every month from 12 Pm to 4 Pm.
