Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center

Inspired by Auckland's Sky Tower, Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre is a towering landmark in the city. Considered to be among the top 10 largest towers in the world, it soars at 338 meters (1109 feet) and dominates the city's skyline. Besides conference and convention facilities, it is also among the best entertainment and adventure spots. From shopping to movies, bungee jumping and dining, there is a lot one can do. For those wanting entire view of the city, head to the observation deck. The Adventure Deck with its sky-walk and tower climb, will certainly be exciting.

The New Yuan Ming Palace

Recreating the splendor and beauty of the renowned Old Summer Palace of Beijing, the New Yuan Ming Palace is an ode to Chinese architecture and rich history. With the palace and breathtaking landscape gardens, the entire complex spreads across an area of 1.39 square kilometers (343.5 acres). Divided into three different sections, visitors can see the traditional and ornate swallow-tailed buildings in vibrant colors, Roman influenced fountains and structures and scenic spots comprising of arched bridges over ponds and streams. Enchanting and reflecting strong Chinese beauty, the palace and its gardens are a must on your itinerary. The cultural shows held in the evening are not to be missed.

Jintai Temple

Perched atop the Huangyang Mountain, a visit to the Jintai Temple makes for an ideal day out in Zhuhai. Covered in verdant environs, the ornately carved red hued temple houses golden statues of Buddha and other deities. The temple is an ode to the ancient and significant Southern Song dynasty of China. Offering views of the spectacular Wangbao Reservoir, the temple is a must-visit to experience the serenity of nature and admire the traditional Chinese architecture.

Zhuhai Lovers' Road

For some peaceful time in the city, the Lovers' Road in Zhuhai is a must-visit. The promenade is lined with palm trees that sway with the cool sea breeze and is ideal for a romantic walk. Stretching for 17 kilometers (4.3 miles), the north and south sections of the road have many attractions from lush urban parks to the famous fisher girl statue. With restaurants, museums and department stores nearby, the promenade makes for a great socio-cultural rendezvous point.

The Big Buddha (Hong Kong)

Also known as Big Buddha, this 34-meter (112-foot) statue is located just minutes from the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is best known for its impressive size and stature as one of the world's largest seated bronze Buddhas, often visited by pilgrims and tourists alike. The Buddha faces north, overlooking China from its mountainous perch, head gently tilted and hand raised in blessing. However, to reach the Big Buddha, you must climb a steep staircase of 268 steps. The reward for this ascent is not only the chance to admire the intricate details of the statue up close, but also breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. So, on lazy days when there's no plan, head to the Big Buddha and take a respite from the city's hustle and bustle.

Hac Sa Beach

Hac Sa means black sand, and the sand at this beach is indeed an intriguing deep gray color. Longer than the Cheoc Van Beach, this beach is Macau's most popular, with jet skis for hire, whilst at the Hac Sa Sports and Recreation Ground there is everything from a swimming pool and mini-golf course to tennis and badminton courts. Fernando's is a great place to stop off for a bite to eat. Alternatively there are barbecue facilities for a DIY cookout.
