"The Bone Hunters"
In the early 1980s, dinosaur fossils were discovered by John D. and Vanetta Moore and Peter and Marilyn Mygatt in its namesake, Mygatt-Moore Quarry. Located in Morrison Formation, this site is frequented by paleontologists because it is scattered with fossils of dinosaurs and plants from the Late Jurassic period. Around 140 million years ago, this quarry was a watering hole and was visited by many dinosaurs. Museums of Western Colorado conducts dinosaur expeditions and digs for adults and kids every summer when it opens for dig season.
