The John McConnell Math & Science Center of Western Colorado is the single most popular place for children eager to learn about the workings of the world's science and math ways. The center was started by John McConnell in 2000 and is located at the New Emerson School. It has a number of interactive displays and exhibits and also conducts regular events. The center has facilities that support student programs and also aid parents and teachers in the curriculum.
Western Slope Vietnam War Memorial Park was established to commemorate the people's efforts in the U.S. armed force from 1959 till 1975, during the Vietnam period. UH-1H "Huey" helicopter is the main attraction, which played an important role during the war, and is now up on display as a remembrance of the Vietnam War.
Eagle Rim Park is popular for its huge skating rinks and tracks, which can be used by skaters of different age groups and skill levels. Facilities such as restrooms and picnic areas are also available for the visitors.
Central Library is a public library catering equally to both adults and kids alike. The library has spacious study rooms and free WiFi.
Canyon View Park offers much more than just a breath of fresh air. The park boasts stellar facilities, including baseball and soccer fields, a playground, dog park and plentiful open space. The park is popular amongst walkers and joggers as well as families attending one of the many events held here.
