"Typical town of Arabic origin"
Although there is very little data on the history of this town, you just need to walk around its winding streets to realize that it is of Arabic origin. The streets are narrow and steep and there are huge rises and falls between them, creating some very picturesque spots. You will see many small, white, cube-shaped houses with terrace roofs. The Mudejar parish church stands out because of its beautiful coffering. If you want to enjoy some typical local food, you should definitely visit the Hostería de Juanar, on the outskirts of town. Their rice with fennel, chestnut stew and some other dishes with partridge and rabbit as the main ingredient are some of their most popular delicacies. To get there: Take the Autovía del Mediterráneo (a dual carriageway) and leave it at the Ojén junction. It is right before Marbella, on the A-355 road.
