Antigua Casa del Guardia

This old place with an unrivalled reputation has been going for more than a century. In the middle of Alameda Principal, it is still full of customers—old and new. The wines in barrels (and bulk) are certainly the best option. Not only can you try the different wines but you can also take a bottle home to share with the family or friends. As far as the food goes, some seafood tapas or "pescaito frito" (little fried fish, famous in Malaga) should help you enjoy washing down the vino.

EL Tapeo de Cervantes

The restaurant is located in the historic center of the city near the Teatro Cervantes de Málagas. It is a small and cozy tapas bar, and is a perfect place to taste some of the best tapas in Malaga. The restaurant has combined traditional Spanish cuisines with modern techniques of cooking, using the best quality ingredients, to prepare a menu full of delicious dishes. The recommended dishes are Tataki de atún con porra Antequerana (Tuna fish with sauce), Ensaladilla Rusa con gambas (Russian salad and prawns), Bacalao con patata y alioli de piquillos (potatoes, garlic and pepper dish) and Fideos negros con calamaritos de Málaga (Squid dish). Meals can be accompanied with wines that have been carefully selected and are served by the glass or bottle.

Óleo Restaurante

Olea Restaurante stands for ‘Oil Restaurant’, and is located in the Center of Contemporary Art Museum in Malaga. The restaurant is the brainchild of popular chef Sergio de Rio and Sushi expert Rui Junior. Together, they offer a surprising blend of Traditional Mediterranean flavors and Japanese flares.
