Teatro Américo Alvarez

This performing center was originally established in 1986 as Theatre Artists and Students. It was renamed as Research Center for the Performing Arts in 1990, and two years later it received the name Americo Alvarez. Teatro Américo Alvarez functioned as an entertaining space till 1997, after which it was abandoned and left in a dilapidated condition. The state government restored it to its former glory and re-opened Teatro Américo Alvarez in 2001. Since then this theater has been host to various enthralling performances.
