Be warned, if you do not have official business with the Hillsborough County Court House, it may be difficult to get in. But with the back of the building butting up against Barrister Lane and Veterans Memorial Park, it is clear that someone had a sense of humor. Upholding and interpreting the law one day at a time, thats the Hillsborough County Court House.
Located in the center of town, the Veteran's Memorial Park is a large and grassy expanse. With lots of benches to relax and trees for shade, it is the perfect place to eat a lunch, relax, or people watch. Many of the public buses start their routes at the park, making it easy to reach. The Visitor Information Center is located in the northwest corner of the park.
Dedicated to the "men of Manchester" who fought in the Civil War and help to give equal rights to all citizens of the United States, the fountain stands proudly in the southeast corner of Veterans Memorial Park. Around the fountain are four different statues of men who fought in the war, and are a great way to see historically accurate uniform and facial hair fashion during the time of the Civil War. Dedicated in 1878, the fountain has been around for quite some time and is a park landmark.
