The Mission to Seafarers building was constructed in its current site in the year 1917 and has, since its inception, acted as a shelter for seamen as well as a means for them to communicate with their loved ones. The community center also shares its premises with the Dome Gallery which still has the original brick walls of the original building which are capped by an imposing dome. The Mission has also partnered with ANL company to display the works of more than 700 artists through an annual exhibition. The proceeds from these exhibitions which began in 2002 have all gone towards the seafarer's cause.
