"Two Nations & A River"

Morelos Dam is a classic tale of disputed waters and more so because it is between two nations and not two states. Bordering towns in Baja California and Yuma County, Arizona, the dam was erected in 1950 after a treaty was signed in 1944. It also holds the distinction of being the last one on the Colorado River. Managed by the International Boundary and Water Commission, it helps the Mexican region in getting its allotted water which is used to till the fertile farms in Mexicali.
