Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami is one of the oldest and largest zoos in the entire state of Florida. Called a "free-range zoo," none of the animals are caged here. Due to its tropical climate, it is an ideal menagerie for observing animals from warmer areas of the world, like Australia and Africa. Visit all kinds of animals, from Cuban crocodiles to those from the Southern Hemisphere like the Tree Kangaroos. The zoo also has several cafes and concession stands scattered throughout so visitors are refreshed.

The Cruz Building - Coconut Grove

With a facade that resembles a 19th-Century New Orleans edifice, the three-story masterpiece hosts lavish parties, weddings and other private events. The entire space encompasses a massive 10,000-square feet; its open air courtyards, intimate balconies and terraces as well as ornate design make the venue quite remarkable. If you don't have the ability to attend an event or party, then you can schedule a tour by appointment.

One of the highlights of the gallery is the Giant Polaroid Studio in addition to most of his work which focuses on positive messages and loads of color.

City of Miami Cemetery

This historic cemetery has been around since 1887 with its first reported burial being ten years later, making it the oldest cemetery in the entire Miami-Dade County. The cemetery grounds were originally separated; one part for whites and one for blacks. Cemetery plot owners actually hold deeds to the land of their plot, but only the deed holder or his/her family is allowed to be buried there. Many of Miami's founders and prominent figures are buried at the cemetery, including Julia Tuttle, the "Mother of Miami."
