The Vermont Folklife Center in Middlebury was started in 1984. The center works to conserve, preserve and document their culture and heritage to keep it alive with every generation. It organizes a number of events and activities to keep the talent, art and culture intact and thriving. They have publications, exhibitions and other projects to aid them in this system. They have collected approximately 4,000 video interviews of and about their cultural heritage. The center not only hosts events for the purpose but also has a shop where you can buy traditional arts and crafts like Native American sweet grass and brown baskets, hand-spun wool, hand made quilts, beeswax candles, tramp art and lots more.
