"Renaissance Architecture"

The Castello di Branduzzo is isolated with respect to the town. It is a building which dates back to the 15th Century and is a magnificent example of Lombard Renaissance architecture. It was completed between the 17th and 19th Centuries and underwent frequent modifications through the course of the years. It has multiple courts and a large central court which communicates with all the smaller ones. The Peacock Room is superb and contains many 16th Century decorations, including a depiction of a sky full of different species of birds. During the Risorgimento the castle was used to hide the arms and ammunition destined for the followers of G. Mazzini. Today the castle is a private residence.
