Oratorio di San Protaso

Located on Via Lorenteggio, Oratorio di San Protaso is an oratory in the scenic region of Milan. The history of this oratory can be traced back to as early as 10th Century, when it is believed to be built. This oratory was a prayer hall for the farmers of the nearby village and is the resting place of Saint Protaso, the 8th Bishop of Milan. Over the centuries, this oratory has been used as a hospital, weapon storage area and many more purposes. The exteriors of this oratory, though simple, boast of Romanesque and Lombard architecture styles, while its interiors feature artifacts collected from over the centuries. Its ancient architecture and interiors make it a popular destination for art, architecture and culture enthusiasts.
