"Giant Human Skeleton"
Calamita Cosmica, which means Cosmic Magnet in English, is a 28-meter-long sculpture depicting a human skeleton. Weighing approximately eight tons, or 16,000 pounds, this sculpture is a monumental structure. This giant figure, created by the Italian artist, Gino De Dominicis, is now on display at the National Museum of contemporary art and architecture in Italy. The figure follows the artist’s style of work, which shows strange forms of the human body. The statue was unveiled in 1990 at the National Center for Contemporary Art in Grenoble, France. It has traveled such places as Naples, Italy, Versailles, France and Hornu and Belgium.
