This beautiful structure is actually an architectural replica of the Taj Mahal. In 1928 it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it is home to the Milwaukee Shriners. The Shriners, or Shrine Masons, are an international fraternity belonging to the "Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine." The Tripoli Shrine Temple is a popular venue for wedding receptions, banquets and other private events.
