Owners Melissa Buchholz and Ross Bachhuber run this restaurant based on the principle of shared plates and communal ingredients. The menu is hard to define because its influences range from French traditionalism to Asian fusion. You can order Steamed Mussels in a Shallot Apple Broth or Lo Mein with Crispy Wonton and Tofu for something completely different. Nonetheless, the kitchen brings different farm-to-table flavors every day with their innovative small plate menus and charcuterie boards which are some of the best in the city.

Despite the Italian sounding name, Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro is entirely French. For those outside of Milwaukee, this is one of the many restaurants from the Bartolotta family. Lake Park Bistro is actually the second restaurant and it is located in the eponymous park overlooking the water. The menu consists of classics like Coquille St. Jacques and Foie Gras Parfait served with a Madeira wine jelly, however the former eschews the Gruyère and adds cabbage and pomegranate as a twist. Almost every quintessential French dish you could imagine is on the menu, from moules and steak frites to onion soup and duck confit, Joe Bartolotta may be Italian, but he sure knows French.
Centro Cafe is simplicity without the duplicity as the Italian dishes that come out of the kitchen are authentic without any pretense. Most Milwaukeens who have visited will tell you that their Lobster Risotto is magnificent and the restaurant deals with over 20 different local farmers. The menu changes according to season so the diner is sure to receive the freshest ingredients. Check website for menu and other community events that the restaurant has throughout the year.
The Anchorage Restaurant is located inside the Hilton Milwaukee River Hotel and it is consistently rated one of the best seafood restaurants inside a hotel. The kitchen brings the sea's bounty from all corners of the country, crayfish from the Gulf Coast, crab from the Pacific and Cod from the Atlantic all arrive daily. A great option to choose for a bite or a drink is on the patio because it provides a bucolic view of the river and surrounding beauty that envelopes the hotel. If you would like a lighter meal or just a drink, grab a stool at the Rivers Edge Pub, it is located in the same spot as the restaurant.

Treat yourself to a delicious meal by dining here at Harbor House. The food is always super fresh, that being the main reason for the wonderful taste. The dishes are all prepared with subtle flavoring used in just the right proportion. The interior of the restaurant is simple and elegant. What adds to the beauty is the gorgeous view. A great place to take a date, though you should remember that this is a pricey place. The Maine Lobster Roll is a good try.
