Allianz Field is a dedicated soccer stadium located northeast of Saint Paul, the capital of Minnesota. Inaugurated in April 2019, the stadium is home to the Minnesota United FC. The stadium is circular in form and has a seating capacity of 19400 spectators. The terrace seating area of the stadium is called the "Wonderwall" with safety handlebars ensuring that no mishaps take place. The stadium offers an in-house brewpub called the Brew Hall on the north side of the stadium. The parking lot of the stadium is also huge in size with the facility for parking up to 1000 cars and 400 bicycles. Covered in a glass mesh on the outside, the stadium gives away a clear aerial view and looks like a giant oval box surrounded by green shrubs.
Located at the southern end of downtown Minneapolis' Nicollet Mall, this is the home of the world-renowned Minnesota Orchestra. The hall was built in 1974 with the goal of providing as nearly perfect acoustics as technologically possible at the time. Visitors will notice the huge cubes hanging from the ceiling, which were designed and placed to deflect sound to all seats. More than 225 orchestral and community concerts are presented here each year. One of city's most popular series, the Viennese Sommerfest, takes place in July with performances, food and refreshments spilling out onto Peavey Plaza.
This beautiful classic structure opened in 1910 as the Shubert Theater. Known for many years as the World Theater, it was renamed in 1994 after favorite local son, famous writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Garrison Keillor, modern day's favorite local son, hosts the Public Radio International program "A Prairie Home Companion" live from the Fitzgerald on Saturdays at 5p (when he is not taking his show on the road). This is a good spot to watch any type of show, with an intimate feel gained from the three tiers of seating that afford everyone great sightlines. The acoustics are wonderful. Many famous names ply this venue, from comedians to musicians. One drawback is the tiny narrow lobby that tends to get very crowded.
This premier multi-purpose venue for sports and entertainment is home to the Minnesota Wild hockey team. Over 140 events are hosted at the Xcel Energy Center annually, including a multitude of concerts that include acts like Shania Twain, Pearl Jam and Bette Midler, the Dave Matthews Band, ice shows, circuses, conventions, trade shows and sporting events.
Ridder Arena is an indoor venue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The venue is housed in the University of Minnesota and is an artificial ice rink built to host several sporting events such as ice hockey. The fabulous arena has a seating capacity of over 3,000 and is home to the Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Ice Hockey team. The infrastructure is believed to be brilliant and visitors have often complimented on the matches that have been hosted in a well, professional manner.
Target Field is the home turf of the Minnesota Twins. Equipped with amenities like mobile seat upgrades, predictive gaming, free WiFi and mobile tickets, it is a popular venue for sports fans. Seating a whopping 40,000, this baseball field offers a good view of the game from all seats. Special stadium tours are organized for visitors. Concerts are also held here.
