Nestled in Pittsburgh's Allegheny neighborhood, the Byers Hall, was the former residence of Alexander M. Byers, along with an adjoining building occupied by his daughter, Mrs. J. Denniston Lyons. Designed by the Alden & Harlow firm, this structure was established in 1898 as Byers-Lyons House. The entire building features contrasting styles; Byers' side reflects Victorian architecture, while the Lyons' portion Edwardian. Byers Hall currently functions as the administrative building of the Community College of Allegheny County.
The Ginger Hill region of Pennsylvania is bestowed with a historic covered bridge in the form of the Ebenezer Covered Bridge. The remarkable Washington County History and Landmarks Foundation has also declared it as a historic bridge. It was built in 1977, the bridge occupies tremendous monumental significance and is also incorporated in the National Register of Historic Places.
The monumental Samuel Warden House is a fine significant site in Pennsylvania. It is precisely situated at Mount Pleasant in the Westmoreland County. It was constructed in 1886 and the building is a superior example of the Second Empire, Eastlake and Queen Anne styles of architecture. The historic site is registered in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Aspinwall region in Pennsylvania is bestowed with a fine historical site in the form of the Sauer Buildings Historic District. These monumental buildings are precisely located between 607 and 717 Center Avenue, and are designed and constructed by the eminent Fredrick C. Sauer. The district spans over a massive 30 acres (120,000 square meters). The buildings in this districts were erected and established from 1898 thorough 1942 and moreover exemplify the Colonial Revival, Fantastic and the Medieval Revival styles of architecture. It also stands registered on the National Register of Historic Places.
The St. Nicholas Croatian Church is a graceful historic church built in 1922. Designed by noted architect Frederick C. Sauer, it has a simple yet stunning architecture. It has been a part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1922 and has been in continuous service from the time of its inception. The church is particularly famous for the murals made by Maxo Vanka.
