Basilique Notre Dame des Tables

The original church of the same name was once the main church of the city. The "tables" refer to those of the merchants and moneylenders who did business in front of the church. Destroyed several times during the 16th and 17th Centuries it was finally abandoned at the time of the French Revolution. The current neo-classical church contains a collection of 17th to 19th-century paintings. Above the altar one can see the city seal and in the chapel to the left an inscription commemorates the celebration of the millennium of the city in 1985. The church celebrates the festival of Note Dame on August 31 of each year.
