"A Modern Church of Byzantin Inspiration"
This large church is clearly distinguished from afar by its domed roof and tall tower. The Church is served by an Augustinian Assumptionist community who were responsible for its construction. This order was foundered at Nîmes early in the 19th Century and despite the small number of members is now dispersed across the world. The order's founder spent several years at Constantinople and established the Institut Byzantin. The interest in the Orthodox Church is also expressed by the architecture and decor of this Catholic church, the interior of which is crowned by the magnificently decorated dome. Among the buildings surrounding the church is a Parish reception, meeting rooms, a student residence and a center for Scouts and Guides.
