Col de Jaman

Beautiful and ecologically important, Col de Jaman is a mountain pass, connecting Montreux in the canton of Vaud to Montbovon in the canton of Fribourg. Starting from Montreux, the ascent to the pass is over nine miles long and offers some of the best panoramic views of the surrounding mountain area. It is an important part of the hike leading to the Rochers de Naye, which begins in Les Avants and through the pass leads to the striking rock peaks of the Dent de Jaman nearby. The ecological balance and the special topography of this mountain pass offers experienced hikers many opportunities for bird watching, especially during the fall migration between August and October.
