"Serene & Exotic Lakeside"
Vihar Lake, located in the southern end of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, dates back to the year 1860, when it was constructed on the Mithi RIver. The lake, just kilometers away from Powai Lake, is one of the largest in Mumbai and has a catchment area of 19km. Situated in the backdrop of the Powai-Kanheri Hill Ranges, Vihar Lake is lined by rich green vegetation, making it one of the most exotic natural attractions of the city. Loads of seasonal birds and butterflies can be viewed in and around the lake. The sunset point offers divine views at twilight. Though not perennially open to the public, special permissions can be taken for bird-watching and leisure trips near the lake.
