Schrannenhalle is a historic building in the old town of Erding that once used to be a bustling grain market. Built in 1866 in the neo-Gothic style, the well-preserved structure is today a listed monument and forms part of the town's rich heritage. Before the current building was built, the old town hall stood here since the 16th Century. After grain markets lost their importance in the 20th Century, the building passed several hands to be used as a technical school and the office of the Red Cross. Today, the building is home to Stadtsparkasse, a public credit institution. Steeped in intriguing history, Schrannenhalle remains a remarkable symbol of Erding.
