"Replica of Okamoto's Residence"

Established in 2006, the Ota-juku Nakasendo Museum was built to showcase the culture and history of Ota-Juku. The artifacts depicted here relate to Princess Kazu who had resided at these premises while she had been travelling to Nakasendo. The museum that exists here was built from the home of Ippei Okamoto who resided in his home that was located in the area. Unfortunately, the famous artist passed away just two years after moving here, hence the main building of the museum is a replica of his house.
