Numerous exciting and scenic trails wind through the extensive foliage of the Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, and one among these traverses the Ritchey Canyon. The environs of the canyon are replete with shrubs, bushes and picturesque groves of trees, with a variety of blooms greeting visitors depending on the season. The Ritchey Creek can also be admired on a hike along the canyon trail.
Bothe-Napa Valley State Park offers 100 acres (40.4 hectares) of idyllic pastoral environs and campgrounds in Napa Valley. Hike through trails surrounded by maple and oak, have a picnic in the pleasant meadows, enjoy a refreshing swim, or explore sites of historical interests, including the ruins of the valley's first church and a pioneer graveyard. The Ritchey Creek Campground has over 40 secluded family campsites.
The Schramsberg winery was established way back in the year 1862 by German immigrants, and a century later it became the first winery in America to attempt the production of sparkling wines. Today, it produces eight varietals of sparkling wine—they are made primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and all of them are bottle-fermented. For a taste, you can visit this historic winery by appointment.
A part of Tilden Regional Park in Orinda, CA, Inspiration Point is a popular staging area and a meeting place. Located on Wildcat Canyon Road, the interest point offers gorgeous panoramas of the surrounding park, apart from an ample parking facility. Associated with Inspiration Trail and Nimitz Trail South Trailhead, it is one of the most visited attractions of Tilden Regional Park.
