Anfiteatro Flavio

"One of Italy's Largest"

Italy's third largest amphitheatre, built in AD 79, once accommodated an audience of 30,000. Only two of the three original tiers of seats for spectators have been preserved. Because for many years the abandoned amphitheatre was used as a convenient source for building stone, only the ruins of the exterior wall arcades remain.
