"Seaside Roman Villa"

Villa di Poppea also known as Villa Oplontis is a large Roman villa situated by the sea. The structure has historic significance as it was a royal residence of Emperor Nero’s second wife. The villa was renovated to cover the damages caused due to an earthquake. During the renovation process, certain architectural changes were made to the villa by adding a reception area, service rooms, gardens and an elongated swimming pool. Interior of the villa is beautifully decorated with attractive Roman frescos.
