"Ancient Structure"

Destroyed in World War II bombing, the House of Sallust is a cream of the crop house in the majestically ruined city of Pompeii. Archaeologists touted this as an important excavation project as it gave some insight into the structure of elite residencies of that era. The house was surrounded by beautiful peristyle gardens, which were imported from Greece with plan to restore the area but were stopped due to the explosion of Mount Vesuvius.
