Belmont University Little Theatre

Community theater usually performs safe dramas and family-friendly musicals. In the South, it's rare to find a theater that features avant-garde productions that stimulates the audience and portrays real art. Drawing on a large population of student performers, this theater produces four shows each year. Admittedly, some are typically benign. But shows such as The Baltimore Waltz, about a young man dealing with AIDS in the early 1980s, push the artistic envelope and provide the Nashville theater-going community with new experiences.
