Ginásio Nélio Dias

Construction of this magnificent arena commenced in 2006, and saw completion in 2008. But the inaugural competition was organized here only a year later in 2009; it was a memorable basketball match between Flamengo and Minas Tênis Clube, with the former emerging victorious. Designed by Moacir Gomes, this indoor stadium was named after a renowned politician and businessman, Nélio Silveira Dias. Ginásio Nélio Dias is ideal for hosting multiple sports, with prominent ones being volleyball and handball matches. Occasionally concerts are also held at this stadium.
