Ornamenting the Audubon Park, Gumbel Memorial Fountain was built in memory of Sophie and Simone Gumbel, who belonged to one of the most well known Jewish families in New Orleans. This nearly a century old fountain came into existence in 1919. The fountain features a marvelous bronze statue that shows the union of air and water. This magnificent fountain designed by famous sculptor Isidore Konti, features the Baroque architectural style and effortlessly adds to the charm of the park.
