This busy roundabout roadway was built around a monument to the Confederate general Robert E. Lee. In 2017, the City of New Orleans ordered the monument's removal to be replaced with a water feature. The entire model is surrounded by real plants from the Botanical Garden, giving it a natural green cover and making it look more attractive.
