"The Old Fort"

Located adjacent to the lake Harlem Meer, Nutter’s Battery is the remains of an old fort that was built during the War of 1812. Built using stones and wood, this old fort was connected to Fort Fish and Fort Clinton. It was named after Valentine Nutter, the owner of the land on which this fort was built. After several restorations, this old fortification was opened to the public in 1945. Head to the old fort and enjoy the views of the surrounding gardens and the lake.
