"Black Box Theater and the Performing Arts"
Established in 2000 by the New 42nd Street Group, the Duke is a state of the art black box theater with 199 seats. Named in recognition of a generous grant by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the theater features productions by national and international performing arts companies. Events include The 92nd Street Y's Harkness Dance Project, The International Hispanic Theatre Festival, Marc Salem's Mindgames, Too!, and The NYC Tap Festival.
