Empellón Taqueria

Located at the corner of West 10th and West 4th, Empellón takes a simple street taco and adds ingredients that pay homage to Mexico, yet are innovative enough to defy definition. Some of them include combinations such as Lobster, Sweet Corn and Epazote or the eccentric veggie Brussels Sprouts with Almonds. A couple of other menu highlights include the Octopus served with Parsnip and Salsa Papanteca or the Fried Oysters with Salsa Ravigote. The taco menu changes nightly, so you can rest assured that when you visit, you'll eat something interesting. Moreover, the prices might be somewhat exorbitant, but this is the West Village and you'll be hard pressed to find these types of tacos anywhere else.
