"Exploring The Local Mining History"
The Iron Hill Museum aims to educate patrons about the rich cultural and geological heritage of Iron Hill. The exhibits include a collection of the rare earth found in the region, and also data about the flora and fauna of the surrounding land. Iron Hill got its name because of the numerous iron mines that are situated here which are rich in history. There are elaborate displays based on taxidermy and mineralogy, and fossils that tell about the pre historic wildlife of the region. Currently, the historic building is open by appointment only, though the Iron Hill Science Center is open to all.
