Established in 1775, the bar is Baltimore's oldest saloon and has an interesting claim to fame as the author Edgar Allen Poe is believed to have frequented it. The Baltimore neighborhood of Federal Hill has a glut of bars, but if you are looking for an exclusive selection of beers, then Ropewalk is probably the best place to visit. With more than 150 different beers to choose from, trying to find one is absolutely mind-boggling. Thankfully, the helpful staff is knowledgeable and instructive while you peruse the menu. From the kitchen, the selections highlight the lauded Maryland Crab, from cakes to Po' Boy sandwiches, it doesn't scream Baltimore any more than this.
