Named after the former commissioner of the Bangalore Mahanagar Palike who was also a great philanthropist, the Puttannachetty Town Hall was built around 1935. This place mostly serves as a venue for plays, musical performances and magic shows. The structure is deeply reminiscent of the Greco Roman style with huge columns along the front side, with a flight of steps that lead to the entrance of the hall. The building is rectangular in shape and has a theater styled auditorium with modern sound and light equipments. Next to the town hall premises lies the Ravindra Kalakshetra, another venue for performing arts and cultural activities.
