Comprising of unique rock formations that began more than 20 million years ago, Vasquez Rocks make an iconic site that has been featured in numerous TV series, movies and documentaries. The site is named after the notorious bandit Tiburcio Vasquez who used these rock formations to hide from the law in 1874. As of today however, the site is sought out for hiking, picnics and horseback riding. Owing to its prehistoric significance, the site was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
This is where the Walt Disney Company has been working its magic since 1923. Relocated from its original studio at Silver Lake, the Burbank studio was established after the monumental success of the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The international headquarters of this iconic company, this state-of-the-art facility offers its services in the fields of film production, music publishing, stage production, distribution, and marketing. The site spans over 51 acres (21 hectares) and features notable structures like the Michael D. Eisner Building, Disney Legends Plaza, and the Frank G. Wells Building, among others. There is also a provision at the Main Theater to showcase first-run Disney movies for special guests. A colossal landmark on 500 South Buena Vista Street, the studio is unfortunately not open to the public, but hoists gigantic head constructions of Mickey Mouse and the Seven Dwarves over its steep red-bricked walls for passers-by to savor.
One of the most noted places in the world, the Warner Brothers Studio has played home to some of the entertainment worlds most famous comedy and drama series. The studio has numerous sets for various scenes all of which have excellent facilities, props and sound and light systems. On location here are also craft and set shops where patrons can purchase memorabilia. There is a tour of the entire studio which takes guests on a journey into the entertainment world with guides who are well versed with the place.

Iedereen die ook maar een beetje interesse heeft in astronomie zal de exposities en het planetarium fascinerend vinden. De Griffith Sterrenwacht is ook interessant voor film fans omdat dit het decor was tijdens de climax van de film Rebel Without a Cause met James Dean.

The place has all the cinema house requirements, including state-of-the-art amenities and a great concession stand. This multiplex has several screening halls and can also play 3D films. Plus, since this movie theater is in Burbank and is close to several movie studios, it often offers special film screenings.
With a history going back to 1913, Burbank Central Library is the main branch of the Burbank Public Library. A notable landmark in the city, it is a great place to check out for published documents. It offers literacy services, proctor services, story-times, children's programs and teens programs. It also hosts movie screenings, workshops, author meetings and reading clubs.
Children will go crazy over the zany colorful building of the Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The roof is decorated with famous Nickelodeon cartoon characters and plastic green "slime." The Nickelodeon Animation Studio is responsible for producing some of your favorite cartoons, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unfortunately the studio is not open to the public, but it's a perfect place to take a family picture.
JewelCity Bowl has roomy bowling lanes and billiard tables. It’s well-maintained, centrally located, and a great place to bowl with pizza and beer in hand. Easy parking and affordable games make JewelCity popular with local families. Party and birthday packages are available, and include plenty of time in the lanes along with tokens for the small but nicely-equipped arcade. A bar and restaurant serves comfort food, American-style.
At Racer’s Ridge, visitors can climb into a cavalry of electric go-carts and race across a nine-turn track. Races are sometimes held under the glow of low-level neon lights, last about 10 minutes, and are never less than 2 miles in length. It’s a fun racing center, where birthday parties and special events are held, and racers keep track of their lap times and record their performances online. Food is often served at weekly events.
One of Burbank's most popular bowling centers, Pickwick Bowl features a total of 24 lanes, allowing multiple games to take place simultaneously. A great place to bring kids along, some of the lanes add dragon ramps and auto bumper systems that add to the fun. Bowling nights are hosted on Friday and Saturday nights when the lights are off and there is dance music playing in the background. Refreshments are served at the on-site lounge.
