A wonderful wine list accompanies the menu.
Situated on the premises vacated by Erling Moe, a seafood shop that was something of an institution in Oslo, Fiskeriet Youngstorget has lived up to expectations remarkably well. It has, in fact, taken Erling Moe's legacy one step further, for not only can you select from a vast assortment of monkfish, cod, halibut and mackerel to prepare at home, but also have the chefs whip up a seafood treat for you right then! A part of the shop serves as a small restaurant, and there is outdoor seating to boot. You could go for something light like fish and chips or fish stew, or opt for a more filling meal.
By the seaside, at the foot of Akershus Festning, you will find fish and seafood restaurant Solsiden. On a beautiful summer's evening in Oslo, this is certainly the right place to be: the views over the fjord, the sunset and the delicacies on the menu make this restaurant a popular meeting place. Crab, lobster, Norwegian haddock and sea-fish are just some of the things that are offered here, and the fresh tuna is worth a try! All this on cozy and stylish premises.
Onda Sea is a part of a restaurant complex located in Aker Brygge that constitutes three different dining concepts. 1000 square meters are divided into: Onda Asia, Onda Mezzanine and Onda Sea. With spectacular views of Oslofjord and Akershus Fortress, it provides a great setting for important business lunches or a special, romantic occasion. This one may be a little tough on the pocket, but with the unparalleled food and view that it provides, Onda Sea is definitely worth it!
At the tip of Aker Brygge, with the sea right outside its door, it's not surprising that this restaurant serves only the best and freshest products. All types of fish, from salmon to cod to monkfish, are served fresh and cooked in a variety of sauces. Try to get an outdoor table in the summer, especially in the evenings. Along with the view of late evening sunlight on the fjord, you will have the advantage of a cheaper menu.
This restaurant is renowned for serving some of the best sushi in Norway. Don't be fooled by the venue's minimalist design and sparse decor. You'll forget about your surroundings when you're staring at the culinary masterpieces awaiting you. Alex Sushi strives to make every bite of fish a fresh and invigorating delight, and it succeeds wildly. This experience, like most culinary indulgences, doesn't come cheap. But, as its customers will tell you, every bite is worth the price.
