Also known as the Wheel of Excellence and Brighton O, this Ferris wheel on Brighton’s seafront has been giving visitors circular, panoramic views of the region’s coastline since 2011. Tours guarantee at least three full rotations, and take air-conditioned capsules 50 meters (164 feet) above sea-level. Opened just one year before the turn of the 20th century, Brighton Pier is the only pier in the city that remains operational to this day. It was the vision of architect R St George Moore and quickly garnered attention as one of the top attractions in Brighton. Known as the world's slenderest tall tower, the i360 reaches a height of 162 meters (531 feet). It was designed by Marks Barfield and his team, the same team that was behind the construction of the remarkable London Eye. The observation tower is not only the site of the world’s first vertical cable car but it’s also considered to be the tallest moving observation tower in the world. Visitors to the i360 can enjoy great views of the entire city as well as the azure waters of the Brighton sea. Isolated and inaccessible by car, but well worth the walk over the South Downs from either Ditchling Beacon or Stanmer Park. Set in a natural bowl, this is a Sicilian marble memorial with an elegant classical dome designed by E C Henriques dedicated to the memory of the Hindu and Sikh soldiers who died in hospital in Brighton during World War I.

Beachy Head is one of the most spectacular spots on the South Coast, a windswept headland with sheer drop to the lighthouse below. The landscape is open, grassy chalk-land where sea birds and hang-gliders ride the air currents. There is also a mile-long clifftop nature trail. The new Countryside Centre describes local downland life, past and present; flora and fauna of cliff face and rock pools, Bronze Age man and talking hologram of a shepherd.

This magnificent castle, built by the Earl of Arundel at the end of the 11th Century, is situated in the lovely town of Arundel. Surrounded by well-kept grounds, it contains a collection of 16th-century furniture and artworks by Gainsborough and Van Dyck, among others. The castle has a fascinating history and has links with Mary, Queen of Scots and Henry VIII. There is also a restaurant and a shop.

Located in the coastal town of Eastbourne, Five Acre Field is a beautiful park. Visitors can take a stroll along this pet-friendly park or play a game of football. This venue is also used to host public events like fairs, markets and circus.
