CREW Trust - Corkscrew Regional Eco-system Watershed Trust - is a non-profit land and water conservation organization that manages the bird rookery swamp trail . The trail is open to public from sunrise to sunset and visitors walking the trail can hear a number of songbirds and see adult and baby gators, wading raptors and birds in the swamp.
Museum of the Islands is a local museum located in the Pine Island Center that showcases a number of exhibits which tell the history of the Island. The exhibit includes articles like shells, maps, dolls and many more valuable objects. Head to the museum with family or friends to learn more about the history of the Island. Get up close and personal with Florida's wildlife on a daylong Everglades Day Safari. Guides lead small groups by airboat, van, riverboat, and on foot. Lunch (with alligators!) is included. Reservations and pre-payment are required. The Safari can be long for younger children, so try the half-day safari. Wear comfortable shoes; the Safari supplies the insect repellant. The park is located south of Fort Myers on Highway 865 near the Estero Bay Aquatic Reserve and is comprised of barrier islands.
