The Olympia-Eissport-Zentrum(Olympic Ice Sport Centre) was built for the 1936 Olympic Games. This stadium in now a sports centre and is a popular destination for recreational sports through the Summer and Winter seasons, but is closed between April and July. The centre has two huge out door skating rinks, as well as facilities for the traditional sport, Curling, as well as two indoor arenas. Not only a sports and recreational centre, a number of exhibitions, shows and concerts are held here around the year. Training classes like Ice hockey for kids, are also held here. You can rent skates and equipment, and enjoy a fun day out skating with friends at the Olympia-Eissport-Zentrum.
The Garmisch Olympia Stadium is a located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria. In a grand display of his power, Hitler ordered the construction of the Stadium, in 1934 along with a sister ski stadium in Partenkerchen, all for the 1936 Winter Olympics. The Garmisch ice stadium stands at the foothills of Zugspitze, the tallest mountain peak in Germany. The Stadium has since hosted the Hockey World Cup in 1996, and is the home ground of the SC Riessersee.
