Bearfence Mountain is a hiking destination located in Shenandoah National Park. An exhilarating rock scramble location, it is known for its panoramic views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, and for its popular hiking trail which leads to the summit. The Bearfence Mountain Trail is a 1.4-mile (2.25 kilometers) loop trail that takes hikers to the top of the mountain. The trail is steep and rocky, with some areas requiring the use of handrails and ladders to climb over boulders. However, the effort is well worth it, as the summit provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Barren Ridge Vineyards stands on an erstwhile apple orchard in Fishersville in Augusta County. This beautiful apple barn was converted by John and Shelby Higgs into a state-of-art-winery, keeping the elegant wooden beams and the original structure intact. During renovation, a wing for wine production was added to the barn. The tasting room stocks up exotic wines, that are available for complimentary tastings and tours.
