Situated in close proximity to the Man Sagar Lake, Gaitor is a the resting place of the royalty that once ruled Jaipur, but have now moved on to the afterlife. The Egyptian pharaohs built mammoth pyramids to preserve their mortal remains, which now stand as an eternal reminder of the powerful rulers that reigned there. Similarly, the Gaitor stands as cremation ground for all of Jaipur's royalty, barring Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh the Second. It holds numerous intricately carved marble cenotaphs, each unique in design, which narrates the story of the life of the king it belongs to.
WAVS at the Maharani Palace hotel is one of the city's top nightlife destinations. Though small, accommodating up to 110 people, the club is well equipped with state-of-the-art sound systems that ensure the party keeps on going. Located close to the General Post Office in the central area of the city, Jaipur's main tourism office branch is also the head office of all the Rajasthan Tourism offices spread across the country. The office premises themselves are not plush, and chances are you'd find it all cluttered up with brochures and archived magazines on Rajasthan Tourism. However the staff here are a helpful lot who will gladly offer you pamphlets, maps and even arrange for car hire and accommodation facilities.
