Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park

Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park offers a wide range of recreational activities for visitors of all ages. Here, visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits. The park features a large reservoir known as Puddingstone Lake, where fishing, boating, and swimming are popular pastimes. Anglers can cast their lines in search of catfish, bass, trout, and more, while boaters can take to the water in canoes, kayaks, or paddleboats. Some of the other facilities include an RV Park, hot tubs, an equestrian area and a boat house. The park also boasts numerous picnic areas, hiking trails, and expansive open spaces perfect for picnics, barbecues, and outdoor gatherings. There's also a playground for children, making it a family-friendly destination.

Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center

Located around 15 miles from Ontario in the Jurupa Valley, this Earth-science museum is dedicated to educating the public about the region's flora and fauna. The museum provides information as well as exhibits about the entire Riverside area and the replica dinosaurs in the Granite Hill Nursery are always fascinating for the kids. Throughout the year, the museum leads tours, field trips and nature camps. All in all, this is the perfect destination for a fun and educational trip with the family.

Anaheim Packing District

Located in the historic Anaheim Colony, the district includes three principal areas, the Packard Building, Farmers Park and the original Packing House. The Packard Building houses the popular Umami Burger and Anaheim Brewery while the Packing House hosts a myriad of restaurants. The food selection is mind-boggling, from Quiche Lorraine at Pandor to Banh Mi at Saw Leaf. Farmers Park is where the market opens on weekends and oftentimes, you will see live music as well. Overall, the Anaheim Packing District is one of the most entertaining spots in a town that is mostly known for Mickey Mouse.

John Galvin Park

John Galvin Park is the place to go for baseball. The park has the Jay Littleton Ball Park, which is a baseball field where 2,500 people can watch a game. If you want to play a different sport, the park has basketball, tennis, volleyball and a Little League Baseball field. For lunch there are picnic tables and a barbecue area, and you can find plenty of parking.

Chino Hills State Park

Chino Hills State Park is a 14,173-acre (5,735-hectare) park in the vicinity of Santa Ana Mountains. The land was originally used for cattle grazing and visitors can see some remaining features from that time, including an assemblage of ranch houses and enduring windmills. Declared a state park in the year 1981, Chino Hills has been a popular attraction ever since, attracting adventurers from all parts of the country owing to its nearly 90-mile (144.84 kilometer) network of interconnecting trails that provide splendid opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Also a great destination for wildlife watching, the park's lush landscape of woodlands and grasslands are a sanctuary for majestic red-tailed hawks, California gnatcatchers and bobcats. Chino Hill State Park is one of the few parks in the country to shelter Chaparral woodlands.

Pio Pico State Historic Park

Set amid scenic environs, the Pio Pico State Historic Park is a fascinating remnant of time and history. The park, which features the residence of its namesake who served as a governor of the state in the 1840s, invites visitors to step back in time and immerse themselves in the history of the area.
