Mediterranean Deli is located north of Downtown Orlando in an aged strip mall, but don’t let the exterior and surroundings stop you from checking them out. The interior may show its age a little as well, but it is extremely clean. The staff is very attentive and especially welcoming. This is an exceptionally popular spot for the locals and often has a line, but the wait is worth it. Choose from homemade, fresh Greek food items, including a variety of gyros, sandwiches, wraps and salads, as well as baklava. Large portions, great prices and indoor or outdoor seating are available.
Agave Azul is conveniently located north of Universal and International Drives and is the place to go for authentic Mexican cuisine. Step inside to simple, yet elegant and modern décor that offers a welcoming atmosphere as well as plenty of azul (blue) accents throughout. Seating for dining is offered inside or outside on a covered patio, but those looking for a refreshing beverage can take a chair at the full-service bar, which offers numerous drink specials and more than 100 brands of tequila. A live Mariachi band performs every Thursday and the daily happy hour is three hours long.
The Mellow Mushroom can be found in the welcoming town of Winter Park only a few miles north of downtown Orlando. It provides a very colorful setting with unusual mural paintings on the wall and some of the best pizza around. The Big Green Truck Pizza may look familiar to anyone from Connecticut, since it is based out of New Haven. However, the company now offers their services in the Orlando area. This is not your ordinary food truck. It is an antique International Harvester KB-5 from the 1940s, which was totally restored and re-powered to become self-sufficient. The large wooden side panels and the back panel transform into tables for food preparation and for dining. The trucks feature a wood-fired oven, a cappuccino machine and a large awning to provide shade. Pineapple Lanai is an amazing take out window that is located just outside the main lobby of Disney's Polynesian Resort. They have few tables where in you can sit down and enjoy, or take it over to the beach or simply walk around the resort while nibbling on your dessert. They serve amazing dole whips and other delectable desserts that are simply worth trying. Make sure to try the signature Pineapple Dole whip which is served along with vanilla as a swirl in a cup or as a float with Pineapple juice.
The Alley is an award-winning restaurant and nightclub located in Sanford, FL. Inaugurated in 2005, they have an excellent bar and is an all blues nightclub with a good selection of music.
