Huk

Huk actually houses two beaches on its site. If you want to shed your worries, stresses, and all of your clothing, the nude beach awaits your arrival. If you want to opt for a more traditional beach experience, there's also a beach that requires clothing at this site. It's only a nice bike ride from central Oslo, or you could even go on skates. You are not allowed to play your radio here (unless you have headphones), or run around with your camera pointing at people to ensure the privacy of other people relaxing at the beach. There is a kiosk that sells ice cream and soft drinks in the summer, and a restaurant just ten minutes away. Nice walking trails and other beaches are nearby.

Kalvya Island

Kalvya is an excellent place for families to go swimming. Only about 20 minutes by bus or train from Oslo, Kalvya offers beautiful nature and fresh air. Walk the short distance from the bus stop in Sandvika, cross the bridge to the island and you are there. Close to the two sandy bays on the west side of Kalvya; there is a large park, often used for football matches and other ballgames. Rock festivals and other events take place here several times during the summer. An alternative to the island is Kadettangen, turn left just before the bridge and find a good spot on the sandy beach.

Tryvann Ski Resort

Located a short drive from the heart of Oslo, Tryvann Ski Resort is the city's largest skiing area. This skiing resort also remains Norway's most frequented resort and attracts enthusiasts with a wide range of challenges. It features 18 runs apart from a 381-meter (1250-foot) fall. The resort is equipped with 11 lifts to ferry visitors atop the high slopes. Tryvann Ski Resort also has a separate area of beginners and children. A sprawling snow park at the resort features a tough halfpipe as well as slopes designated for cruising.

Bogstadveien

Bogstadveien is a commercial street in Oslo lined by typical Norwegian buildings on either side of the street. You could either shop or have a nice meal in one of the restaurants in the restaurants. A pedestrian shopping festival called Bilfri Bogstadvei is held twice annually, during this time the street is usually crowded with locals shopping or eating from the food stalls.

Drøbak Village (Drbak)

A charming village by the seaside, 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Oslo, Drøbak is home to narrow streets with idyllic, wooden houses. With its large marina and a leisure park for swimmers and sunbathers, the influx of day-trippers in the summer is enormous. There are many cozy pubs, cafés and restaurants. Weekly "jazz cruises" on the fjord depart from the harbor. Drøbak is also known for Tregaardens Julehus i Drbak, a Christmas emporium open all year round. This has led to the town getting its very own road signs, with a small nisse (elf) on them. To get there, a catamaran ferry departs daily from Oslo in the morning, returning late in the afternoon (travel takes about one hour and is only possible in the summer). There are also frequent all-year bus services to and from Oslo.

Tryvann

A picturesque lagoon, Tryvann is the gateway to the forested region of Nordmarka. Tryvann's surrounding region remains a popular cross-country skiing site during the winters. During summers, the lake and its neighboring region are frequented by walkers and hikers. Biking is also a common activity here. A quaint cabin Tryvannstua is nestled by the lakeside.
