Savor Seattle Food Tours

Angela Shen, an avid foodie, founded Savor Seattle to spread her love for food amongst visitors to the city. Angela, who has always worked in the food industry, has formed a team of like minded gourmands, who will guide you through Seattle's culinary sphere. They offer different tour packages that focus on varied areas and themes. The tour around the Pike Place Market is a must-try; visitors get the opportunity to explore this historical place while experiencing the food and culture. You could also sign up for the Chocolate Indulgence, Booze-n-Bites and Gourmet Seattle.

Seattle Waterfront

With numerous fun-but-tacky tourist shops and the Alaskan Way Viaduct thundering overhead, the Seattle Waterfront should instead be visited for the spectacular views. Also bringing people here is the Bainbridge Island ferry that leaves from Colman Dock, and the popular Summer Nights at the Pier concerts play at sublime Pier 62/63. The Seattle Aquarium and the Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center are also here. The old streetcar clangs along the length of the waterfront, and the green spaces of Myrtle Edwards Park take over from the concrete mayhem at the northern end.

Seattle Free Walking Tours

Since 2012, Seattle Free Walking Tours have been conducting tours and educating visitors about the city, at no charge at all. Guests can choose from two packages: Experience Seattle and Market Market. Experience Seattle is the best way to learn about the city's monuments, best eateries, shopping spots and attractions. Explore the historical Pike Place Market, its hidden nooks and the changes it has undergone through the years with their Market Market Tour. They also organize private tours, where packages will be designed according to your convenience. Though tours are entirely free, a contribution is greatly appreciated since this is what the guides do for a living. The tours last for around three hours, so put on your best walking shoes, don a hat and take your strides!

Spooked In Seattle

When the city sleeps, the ghosts come out to play. Interact with these other worldly spirits by signing up for a tour with Spooked In Seattle. Since 2004, Ross Allison, the founder of this tour service, has been enlightening visitors with the knowledge of how paranormal investigators and ghost hunters function. The tours are led by official paranormal investigators who will take you to real haunted sites while narrating true incidents. Visitors even get a glimpse of sites shown on SyFy Ghost Hunters & Ghost Adventures. Guests can visit the haunted USS Turner Joy, crime scenes that writer Neil Low's has mentioned in his novels, haunted pubs and more.

Tours Northwest

Sign up for a tour with Tours Northwest, and let the knowledgeable guides offer you deep insights about the city. The Seattle City Tour will give you a glimpse into the neighborhoods and important attractions in just three hours. You will visit the Space Needle, Fisherman's Terminal, Fremont Troll, historical Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square. For a more comprehensive visit, choose the six hour Seattle City Grand Tour. Those visiting Seattle as a group, irrespective of the size, can choose from their group tour packages, or get a trip customized especially for you and your friends. Locals living in the city can also sign up for a tour that will get you acquainted with the neighborhood you have been living in. Check the website for packages, prices and tour schedules.

Beacon Food Forest

Spread over an area of 7 acres (2.83 hectares), the Beacon Food Forest is a venture undertaken by the local government in Seattle to grow a forest of edible trees, shrubs and herbs with the help of locals. The aim of the forest is to ensure a source of healthy food as well as allow locals to grow their own food. The canopy layer of the forest consists of nut and fruit trees. Berry shrubs and other small edible plants and herbs make up the lower layers. Visitors are allowed to pluck the fruits here.
